Overview
Elite's Fire Program quickly performs all necessary hydraulic calculations as required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 13). Fire also estimates sprinkler head requirements, calculates optimal pipe sizes, and automatically performs a peaking analysis. Fire can handle all types of sprinkler systems (trees, grids, and hybrids) with up to 1,000 or more sprinklers and pipes. Meters and standpipes can also be analyzed.
Fire calculates the GPM water flow and velocity through all pipe sections, the GPM flow and residual pressure at each sprinkler head, the pressure losses incurred in each pipe section due to both friction and elevation changes, the maximum system demand pressure, and the total water GPM demanded by the system. The report format is designed to aid both the designer and the plan reviewer.
Calculation Method
Fire uses the Newton Raphson matrix solution technique to solve pipe networks, where each pipe is defined to flow according to the Hazen Williams formula. Calculations can be made for a given water supply pressure or they can be performed such that Fire determines the lowest water supply pressure that adequately drive the sprinkler system. Calculations are very fast and accurate. The user manual lists all the pertinent equations to allow full manual verification.
Program Input
All input is checked at the time of entry so that no improper data can be entered. Upon completion of the input process, all data is saved and can be reviewed and edited whenever desired. Two types of data are requested: general project data and pipe segment data. The general project data includes the project name and location, the client name, sprinkler specifications, hazard description, density requirements, hose stream allowances, hydrant test data, and other such data. The pipe data requires that each pipe section be defined as having a beginning and ending node number. If sprinkler heads are located at the pipe nodes, then the sprinkler K-factor must be given. In addition, the pipe length, nominal size, material type, and fitting quantities and types must be entered for each pipe section. Fire contains a built-in library of pipe materials that includes cast iron, copper, steel, PVC, and many others. The pipe library allows up to 50 user defined pipe materials. Fitting equivalent lengths are automatically looked up depending upon fitting type, size, and pipe material.
Program Output
The Fire Program provides numerous reports including: general project data, pipe and node input data, node grouping flows, detailed pipe and sprinkler output, supply/demand graph, and a network summary. You can specify exactly which reports are to be printed, and all reports can be previewed on the screen. Ups user employee. Here are just some of the available reports.
Free Update
Fire now has the capability to handle a fire pump at or near the inflow point of the the system. Fire also can calculate using metric units. These are highly significant and useful new features for Fire. This is a free update for existing users of Fire version 6.
The Easiest Duct Sizing Yet
You're not going to believe how easy duct sizing just got. With Graphic Manual D Ductsize, you simply drag and drop a few duct objects onto the Drawing Board drawing window, tell it to automatically create your runout ducts, and click the Resize menu. The program will then automatically assign the CFM values to each duct based on the load calculation results, calculate all the sizes, redraw all the ducts at their proper width or diameter, and calculate all the pressure losses. Watch the video demo to see this new program in action.
Features
- Calculates optimal air conditioning duct sizes.
- Computes round and rectangular duct sizes.
- Four sizing methods available: Nearest Inch, Exact, Use Schedule, and Presize.
- Fitting Selector dialog displays drawings of hundreds of ACCA duct fittings.
- Both supply and return duct systems can be entered in the same project. Return-side duct system losses are automatically accounted for when calculating the supply-side duct system.
- The number of trunks & runouts is virtually unlimited.
- Provides comprehensive color reports which can be printed, previewed on screen and saved to disk.
- Works with high-velocity duct systems as well as conventional systems.
- Uses either English or metric units.
Requirements
You must have active licenses for both Rhvac and Drawing Board.
Overview
Elite Software Fire User Manual Pdf File
Graphic Manual D Ductsize works as a component within Drawing Board and Rhvac to calculate optimum duct sizes. It automatically creates runout ducts in each room of your floor plan and assigns them the proper airflows as calculated by Rhvac. Reports show the static pressure loss of each individual duct as well as the cumulative loss at each point in the system.

Calculation Method
The Graphic Manual D Ductsize component is based on the design procedures given in ACCA's Manual D. The equal friction sizing method is used to determine optimum duct sizes to the nearest inch or centimeter. You can also select to size ducts based on a user-defined schedule of sizes, or exact (nearest tenth of an inch, or millimeter). Or you can select Presize for the sizing method and enter your own diameter or height and width for the duct. Static pressure losses resulting from fittings and dampers are based on Manual D's equivalent length definitions, with the several hundred fitting definitions from Manual D built in to the program, including pictures.

The reports are integrated with those of Rhvac, so to see a report of the results just check the checbboxes in the 'Graphic Manual D Ductsize' frame on Rhvac's Select Reports dialog. New reports will then be included in the Print Preview window's list of reports. One reports will show you detailed information for each duct followed by a duct system summary that lists key data about the duct system such as the runout with the highest pressure loss and the duct with the largest calculated diameter. The Pressure Changes Graph report will show you the static and total pressure available at each point along the route with the highest static pressure loss.
